Spotlight on Information

With so much happening and changing in the world of community justice, we will offer links to other sites with information to expand your insight into this emerging field. The following resources are helping to guide the work of the Belknap County Citizens Council:

  • The Child Welfare League of America (CWLA), the nation's oldest and largest membership-based child welfare organization, has been known and respected as a champion for children since 1920. Their primary objective, and the title of both their current strategic plan and their National Framework for Community Action, is Making Children a National Priority. To do that, all Americans must be engaged in promoting the well-being of children and young people and protecting them from harm. The Citizens Council is working with the Child Welfare League on a systems integration plan for Belknap County.
  • The Case Foundation applies its resources to complex social problems by investing in collaboration, leadership, and entrepreneurship. The Citizens Council is especially interested in the Foundation’s work on civic engagement, one of the cornerstones of effective and vital communities.
  • The “Follow The Child” project, as organized in the New Hampshire, is of great interest to the Citizens Council. This initiative, offered to schools and districts, helps schools foster student aspirations and promotes student growth in all areas of each child’s life. The Citizens Council has been cooperating with area schools and the Quaglia Institute to develop an understanding of student aspirations and personalized learning in a variety of community settings.
